Parallel Lives
Julia Roberts in Iran
My mother is very similar to American movie star Julia Robert, she sometimes missed her youngness when is watching her movies. I always thought about what my mother's life would be like her if she lived in America or France. That's why I started to paint the life of Julia Roberts, as a native middle Eastren woman.
People in the Middle East are in this ancient land with thousands of cultures, moral, wars, religions,… They are trying to save themselves from the rubble and to bring the natural people back to life.
Using the proverb, the sky is blue everywhere, I try to find out how different and similar life is in different parts of the world. Studying parallel life helps us to value the quality and quantity of life on a wide spectrum. In this way, I hope to eliminate the cultural and economic differences between people and make a visual statement that will make sense for everyone.
Years later, artists in developing countries are becoming more aware of how their creative potential, private and public lives affect art in developed countries.
